Jader Almeida Introduces KIDS, Bringing Brazilian Design to Childhood

The Brazilian designer’s first children’s collection reimagines familiar furniture at a smaller scale, connecting contemporary interiors with the everyday experiences of growing up.

Brazilian designer Jader Almeida has introduced JADERALMEIDA KIDS, his first furniture collection created specifically for children. Unveiled on October 15, 2026, at Galeria Little Wishes in São Paulo, the 12-piece line extends the brand’s design language into a new stage of domestic life.

Four chairs from Almeida’s existing portfolio have been reinterpreted in child-sized proportions. Their recognizable forms remain, while dimensions and construction details have been reconsidered for younger users. The collection also introduces pieces conceived specifically for children’s spaces.

A different scale, the same design language

Almeida’s work is known for measured proportions, carefully resolved details and close attention to materials. KIDS brings those principles into spaces where furniture must respond to smaller bodies, changing routines and the physical curiosity of childhood.

The collection addresses an increasingly relevant question in residential design: how can children’s furniture belong naturally to the architecture of a home, rather than occupying a visually separate world?

Its answer is to let adult and children’s pieces share a coherent aesthetic while serving different needs. A chair becomes an object through which a child can take part more independently in family life.

Objects that grow into memories

Presented under the concept Made for Growing, the collection treats furniture as part of the experiences through which children build their relationship with space.

For Almeida, the project also draws on fatherhood and on observing how children interact with their surroundings. The designs address proportion, comfort, materials and safety alongside the formal qualities associated with his work.

The result offers a perspective on Brazilian contemporary design in which childhood becomes part of the wider conversation about architecture, domestic rituals and everyday objects.

JADERALMEIDA KIDS is available at Galeria Little Wishes and through the brand’s online store.
